Málaga come into this one in terrible form, which is hardly surprising given they still haven’t managed a win from their opening seven fixtures. That form, paired with one of the thinnest squads in the league, points to it being another miserable outing at La Rosaleda for Málaga when Espanyol visit.

Espanyol haven’t been so hot themselves, which is why we’re backing them in the draw no bet market. The side is largely made up of the same players who comfortably finished 11th last year, and we think two defeats on the bounce before the international break will have Espanyol gunning to kick-start their season. Undefeated in their last five in all competitions, and one of our favourite sides to watch in the league so far, Real Betis should be comfortably on top when they aim to defend their perfect home record against Osasuna. We expect Betis to have one eye on rivals Sevilla, who face lowly Levante. Everyone at the club will know that dropped points here would let Sevilla gain ground in the race for the Champions League spots.

Osasuna shouldn’t put up much resistance; despite starting strongly in the league, they have returned to type with resounding defeats to Alavés, Atlético, and Espanyol in the last few weeks. We think Betis are better than all those teams, potentially even Atlético, so this should be another deflating defeat for Los Rojillos.

It’s always tough predicting two teams towards the bottom of the table, especially when they’re both coming into the match off morale-boosting results. Elche absolutely smashed Espanyol 3-1 despite playing the game with 10 men for 84 minutes, an impressive feat for a side who hadn’t won a match until then.

Celta Vigo had an even more emphatic win, 5-0 against Racing Santander, and we think it has all the makings of a result that will bring Celta’s season to life. Let’s not forget this side finished 6th last season and are much better than the league table suggests. While Father Time may have caught up to players like Iago Aspas, there’s still more than enough attacking quality in the side, including Borja Iglesias, who scored 14 goals last season. He should be fully back from injury for this fixture, and that return alone should be enough to see them leave with at least a point.

If there’s one saving grace for Real Madrid fans seeing their team sitting in the unusual position of 4th right now, it’s that at least the matches have been exciting. Four times already this season, Real matches have landed over 3.5 goals, and they have the perfect visitors in this fixture to keep that up.

The Yellow Submarine is full of holes this year, with 12 goals conceded already, though they’ve also scored 13. For a side with Champions League ambitions, they’ll need to turn up at the Bernabéu ready for a shootout, just as they tried against Dortmund, if they hope to get anything from the fixture.
