Exclusive Interview with Stan Collymore: Robertson should sign for Aston Villa

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has told Best Betting Bonuses that he believes Andy Robertson should join Aston Villa after he departs Anfield this summer.

“Andy Robertson should go to Aston Villa. I’m a big Villa fan, and I’d take him all day long. He’d work well under Unai Emery, and he’d be looking to transition into his coaching path soon after, which I’m sure Emery can assist him with, too.
The club currently have Luca Digne, who is getting a little bit long in the tooth, so both of them could play the right amount of games.
The likes of West Ham, Spurs and Brighton could also be good destinations for him, while he could go abroad for a couple of seasons to somewhere like Como to see out his European career.
I don’t see him joining the likes of Saudi or the MLS – I’d have thought he’d want to start his coaching badges in a few years’ time. If I had it my way, I’d have him at Aston Villa tomorrow!”
Slot will Remain at Anfield
Collymore also outlined how he believes Liverpool manager Arne Slot will stay at the club until next season, regardless of whether the Reds qualify for the Champions League.
“If Liverpool don’t qualify for the Champions League next season, that certainly asks a lot of different questions about Arne Slot. The team will be losing Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, who will be two pairs of very big boots to fill, so they have to be in a good position to recruit top-quality players.
Will top-quality players like Michael Olise want to join Liverpool if they’re in the Europa League? I don’t think he will.
Having said that, even if Liverpool don’t get into the Champions League, I think they’ll keep Slot. I think winning the Premier League last season has bought him a lot of wiggle room, so I think he’ll stay, whatever happens.”
